What is truth? – Shinchonji, the Testimony of Man Hee Lee

What is truth?

Is it created by what we think? Is it something decided by a majority? Is it something formed behind a pulpit? It is something self-existent?

Truth is something entirely independent of our thinking and will and desires. On the other hand it is forever bound with God’s will and desires. Before all else, he was and still is. His word is unchanging and completely trustworthy.

Is the whole entirety of God’s will and desire compressed and bound into the thousand page Bibles? The answer may surprise you. Truth is bigger than the Bible, but the Bible is exactly what we need to know until his Kingdom is once again established on earth as it was in the Garden.

So when it comes to truth, we really don’t get to make the calls. We can be uncomfortable, or happy and rejoice, or ignorant and satisfied, it doesn’t change the truth.

How about when reading the Bible? It’s truth, but how do we know whose truth? Who gets the final decision on what the Bible means? Who should have the final veto?

At the first coming the teachers of the law, the Bible experts of the day, were pretty sure that they had the authority. A homeless man called Jesus said he knew the real truth. Hmm… the teachers of the law were very educated and had numbers in their synagogues. So why do we read the New Testament and agree with Jesus instead of them? What makes him so special?

He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no-one accepts his testimony (Jn 3:32) Jesus has the word from heaven, the word from God. He come from heaven (Jn 3:14) and witnessed (seen and heard) everything from God. That definitely grants authority, after all, who knows God’s word better than God? If you could choose between accepting the false testimony from the teachers of the law (false because they were not the ones who saw or heard it) or the true testimony from Jesus (sent from God, Jn3:34) which one should you pick? If you pick the wrong one does that change the truth? We see in the gospels that the teachers of the law were wrong no matter how much they refused to see it.

How about in these days? Perhaps this a little touchy. Maybe you have a favorite pastor you like to listen to, or a comforting Bible commentary that eases your questions. As wonderful and knowledgeable as these people may be, have they been to heaven and seen and heard the fulfillment of the promises in the New Testament?

Maybe that seems unrealistic, but the promise is in your Bible as well (Rv1:1-3, Jn16:14-15). It is promises that there will be only one who knows. Is your pastor that one from heaven who can explain the entire Bible perfectly? Not mostly correctly, but perfectly correctly. Correctly according to the rest of the scripture. Remember, we don’t decide what is true. For our sake we should certify that God’s word is truth (Jn 3:33).

Jesus promised that the Spirit of Truth on the Counselor would lead us into all truth. It is the time that this is being fulfilled. Will you humble yourself and listen and see if it is correct according to all the Bible or will you miss like the teachers of the law?

Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. The Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I am from God.

John 16:25-27

Let us believe in the one God sends and believe what is being spoken plainly. Today we have the one he sent and he is here, testifying fulfillment according to scripture. Please hear the words of the promised pastor, Mr Man Hee Lee, and judge for yourself whether this is God’s truth of man;s ideas.
